Luca Iandoli phd, Executive Director – ICSB Academy
Dr. Luca Iandoli is the Immediate Past President of ICSB and Associate Dean for Global and Online Programs at St. John’s University, College of Professional Studies, where he has also an associate professor appointment in the division of Computer Science, Mathematics and Science. Before moving to St Johns’ Dr. Iandoli has served as an Associate Professor at the Department of Industrial Engineering, University of Naples Federico II, and as Visiting Research Professor at the School of Systems and Enterprises, Stevens Institute of Technology (USA).
Luca Iandoli was a Fulbright Visiting Scholar at the Center for Collective Intelligence of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He has published over one hundred papers on the analysis of collaborative dynamics in firms, online and offline networks and industrial districts through the use of computational methodologies, serving as a member of the editorial board of several academic journals.
Professor Iandoli’s current research focus is on how online interaction and collaboration might be leveraged to help groups, organizations, communities, and companies to aggregate and store dispersed knowledge, to increase creativity, innovation and problem solving, and to support large-scale, collective intelligence.
Dr. Iandoli has served as President of the European Council for Small Business and entrepreneurship (ECSB) from 2011 to 2013 and as President of the International Council for Small Business (ICSB) for the 2016-17 term.
Cesar Bandera phd, Program Director – ICSB Academy
Serving as the Director of ICSB Academy 2017, Dr. Cesar Bandera is Assistant Professor of Entrepreneurship at the School of Management, New Jersey Institute of Technology. His research focuses on the establishment and growth of technology start-ups. Dr. Bandera also has two companies in the NJIT Enterprise Development Center business incubator that specialize in mobile learning services and m-Health. Before joining NJIT, Dr. Bandera led several technology companies from start-up to successful exit, and worked at AT&T Labs. His has received the NASA Space Act award, Small Business of the Year Nominations from the US Department of Defense, four patents, and written numerous publications in entrepreneurship education, incubation, and signal processing innovation. He is Associate Editor of the Journal of Translational Engineering in Health and Medicine, and Senior Member of the IEEE.
Miriam K. Helmy MBA, Project ManAger & Marketing Director – ICSB Academy
Miriam Helmy is the International Council for Small Business (ICSB) Academy project manager and marketing director. She completed her MBA at The New Jersey Institute of Technology in 2018 with a concentration in Marketing. She is currently conducting research in the area of digital entrepreneurship with sponsorship from the Panasonic Foundation. Ms. Helmy completed her undergraduate degree at NJIT, majoring in business management with a double concentration in marketing and finance and a minor in communications. In the private sector, she has held several business management and development positions since 2007. She has also served as a small business consultant, helping business owners develop business and marketing plans as well as secure financing and research grants under the federal Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program.
